Accident and Injury Reporting
The Web-Enabled Safety System (WESS) is the Navy-Marine Corps online accident and injury reporting and data retrieval system. The Marine Corps has used WESS to report its aviation data to the Naval Safety Center for analysis. The new WESS II online system collects both MC ground and aviation data to include initial mishap/hazard notifications, and routes them through the releasing chain for validation by the Naval Safety Center. Users can update investigation reports and authorizes the release of automated/queried reports based on access rights in addition to both automated and ad-hoc reporting features that has data retrieval back to 1994, and ultimately 1988.
