The Marines of the Ozarks held an awards formation recognizing Cpl William S. Webb IV, Sgt Robert L. Ruzicka, and GySgt Burl D. Hill. Cpl Webb received a Certificate of Commendation for his achievement of being selected as the Instructor of the Quarter. Sgt Ruzicka and GySgt Hill were awarded the certificate of qualification for Master Instructor and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for demonstrating superior performance of duty in completing the voluntary Master Instructor Program. A compentency-based program, instructors must fulfill comprehensive formal training requirements and participage in an evaluation process, as well as document their development in a professional portfolio, in order to be certified as a Master Instructor.
