MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT, San Diego - Amanda Llamas (left) and Mirna Hernandez (right), students at United South High School in Laredo, Texas perform sit-ups during the female portion of the National Youth Physical Fitness Championships aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego May 18 as Marines encourage them to keep perform more repetitions. More than 150 high school students across the country participated in the five-event competition which included sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups and a shuttle run. This is the 22nd year MCRD San Diego has hosted the event which is sponsored by the United States Marines Youth Foundation.
