To the Marines, families, and friends of Headquarters and Service Company, Marine Combat Training, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year. With the new year brings new changes. My name is Captain Jason A. Hvizdak and I have recently assumed the role as the H+S Company Commander. I am familiar with most of you being that I have been serving in Kilo Company for the past year, but for those of you that I have not introduced myself to yet, I look forward to meeting you.
First let me say that I am proud to be serving here at Marine Combat Training as your Company Commander. It is an honor and a privilege to be serving along side some of the most talented and devoted Marines this Corps has to offer. Your hard work and dedication to training and preparing young men and women for combat is humbling. You devote countless hours to ensuring that these young Marines are put to the front of your priority list and given your total attention. You give them knowledge, mentorship, experience, and the confidence to go forth and deploy to duties and combat zones all across the globe. As you know, this company’s mission is to provide instruction and support to this battalion. My goal is to see that this instruction and support continues to be provided at the best of our abilities, and to seek out weaknesses and improve them. I look forward to this opportunity to work with you and prepare our Corps for its future.
I would like to thank the families and friends of the Marines of this Company. You unconditional love and support for your Marine is a force multiplier. It has always been my belief that a Marine who has a solid and stable home life is a solid performer at work. Marines often seek to improve themselves mentally and physically at work, but often times forget that they need to improve themselves mentally and spiritually at home. I encourage you and your families to strive for the best home life you can in this new year. Make time for each other, and take advantage of opportunities when they arise to spend together enjoying each other’s company. I wish you all the best in 2010.
Respectfully,
Captain J. A. Hvizdak
