LIEUTENANT COLONEL SCOTT PIERCE
Lieutenant Colonel Scott Pierce grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1984. Sergeant Pierce was selected for the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program and enrolled at the University of Utah.
After graduation and commissioning in 1991, he attended The Basic School, and was subsequently assigned to duty with 1st Battalion, 3d Marines, where he commanded a rifle platoon and combined anti-armor team platoon.
In 1995, 1stLt Pierce reported to the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, where he served as officer-in-charge, Mountain Leaders Course. In 1998, after language training, Captain Pierce was assigned as Exchange Officer to the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps.
In January, 2001, he was assigned to 2d Battalion, 2d Marines, for duty as commanding officer, Weapons Company and then as battalion landing team executive officer during the invasion of Iraq. In 2003, Major Pierce returned to the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, for service as the Training Center operations officer.
Major Pierce’s next assignment, in 2006, was to the U. S. Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, for duty as a student. After completing the School of Advanced Military Studies in 2008, Lieutenant Colonel Pierce reported to the G-3, 2d Marine Division, leading to his assignment as Future Operations Officer, 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade, and subsequent deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Lieutenant Colonel Pierce was raised in Idaho, and is married to the former Tina Morgan of Rigby, Idaho.
