GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  It is my distinct honor to congratulate the Marines and Sailors of the 1st Marine Logistics Group on the occasion of your 70th anniversary.
2.  Activated on 1 July 1947 as 1st Combat Service Group, the Marines and Sailors of 1st MLG have consistently provided exceptional combat service support for your fellow warfighters.  Throughout operations in Korea, Vietnam, Somalia, Iraq, and Afghanistan, 1st MLG has done everything possible to ensure “victory through logistics.”  The name of this unit has changed over the years, but the impressive professionalism and commitment to excellence has carried on.  Always at the ready when our Nation calls, the 1st MLG team truly epitomizes our axiom “In every clime and place.”
3.  No matter the mission, the Marines and Sailors of 1st MLG always have a reputation for responding rapidly and providing exceptional service.  As you commemorate this anniversary, know that your fellow Marines are deeply grateful for your invaluable contributions.
