SUBJ/2018 ACTIVE DUTY FUND DRIVE IN SUPPORT OF THE NAVY-MARINE CORPS RELIEF SOCIETY//
GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  For more than 114 years the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) has been the official military aid society for the Department of the Navy.  This year's drive kicked off on 27 February and runs through the end of April.  Again this year's theme is “By Our Own– For Our Own”.  The NMCRS's thousands of volunteers and paid employees will assist tens of thousands of Sailors, Marines and Retirees through interest free loans and grants.  Your generosity and support will assist the society in providing a lifeline for those in need of support.  Whether it is the assistance for a life changing event or planning for retirement the society is there to help.
2.  MARADMIN 684/17 announced the reporting requirements for 2018.  The goal remains 100 percent contact of all active duty Marines andSailors, therefore selecting the right coordinators and keyworkers are key to the drive's success.  I expect Commanders at all levels, along with Senior Enlisted personnel, to participate in the promotion and execution of this year's drive.  As leaders, it is our responsibility to ensure that all personnel realize the resources available through the NMCRS.
