SUBJ/NATIONAL VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK//
GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  In celebration of National Volunteer Appreciation Week, 15-21 April 2018, we recognize our Marines, family members and civilian volunteers for their dedication and service to the United States Marine Corps.  Volunteers are essential to our community and demonstrate the rich legacy of exceptional service that the Marine Corps embodies.
2.  Commanders and leaders are encouraged to acknowledge each volunteer by supporting local events and activities designated for volunteer appreciation.  Recognizing the selfless work of volunteers leads them to build on their good work, inspires others to serve, and fosters a sense of pride in service.  The contributions made by volunteers cannot be overstated.
3.  The very best of our nation, and the very best of our Marine Corps, are represented in our volunteers.  D’Arcy and I are proud to say, “Thank You!” to each and every one of you.  Your commitment creates a stronger, more vibrant Marine Corps community.  Thank you for all that you do.
4.  Semper Fidelis, Robert B. Neller, General, U.S. Marine Corps, Commandant of the Marine Corps.//
