GENTEXT/RMKS/ 1. The Deputy Commandant for Aviation (DCA) will host the 2019 Marine Aviation Readiness and Operations Summit (MAROS) at the Sheraton Hotel and Marina in San Diego CA from 14-16 May 2019.  The intent of the MAROS is to allow subject matter experts from within Marine Aviation to conduct annual meetings in one centralized location.  This will allow a professional exchange of information on topics essential to Marine Aviation to include manpower, readiness, aviation programs, warfighting lessons learned, professional development, and tactics.  Meetings taking place during the MAROS include: the Assault Support Operational Advisory Group (ASOAG), Aviation Logistics (AVLOG) OAG, Marine Air Command and Control (MACC) OAG, Tactical Aviation (TACAIR) OAG, Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) OAG, Aviation Safety OAG, and the Aviation Installations IAG.  The conclusion of the week’s meetings will be outbriefs from the individual advisory groups to the DCA.
2.  All of the events (with the exception of classified meetings) will take place in conference rooms at the Sheraton Hotel and Marina, as dictated below.
3.  Overview of events.  A separate and more detailed schedule willbe sent out from each POC listed in paragraph 5.  Uniform will be woodland utilities or green flight suit for meetings taking place aboard MCAS Miramar.  Uniform will be business casual for meetings taking place during normal working hours at the Sheraton Hotel and Marina.

4. Administration
4.A. Funding and transportation for the Aviation Summit is the responsibility of individual commands.  The 2019 maximum government lodging rate for San Diego county, CA is 174 dollars.  Attendees are reminded to file tax exemption forms to reduce lodging expenses.  Due to budgetary considerations and to maintain good stewardship of resources, attendance at the summit is limited to one representative from 1st MAW commands.  For all other locations attendance is limited to commanding officers for O-6 commands and commanding officers plus one for participating O-5 commands.  Supporting establishment commands shall limit attendance to only necessary personnel.
Individual aviation awardees are not included in unit attendance limitations.  Reference community specific OAGs in DTS.
4.B.  Participants are encouraged to make billeting reservations as soon as possible.
4.B.1.  If necessary to cancel lodging from group reservations at SHERATON, cancellations should be made by contacting HQMC Aviation (ASM) at joseph.andrejack@usmc.mil.
4.C.  Security requirements:  all visitors attending Aviation Summit classified briefs at MCAS Miramar must have their designated security personnel pass their security clearances to MAG-11 HQ, 3D MAW, LEVEL 5 (SMO CODE: 000111JA5).  All clearances must be submitted three working days before attending the classified briefs through the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS).
