Commandant Places Director of Marine and Family Programs on Administrative Leave
11 Apr 2018

The Commandant of the Marine Corps placed BGen. Kurt Stein the Director of Marine and Family Programs on administrative leave from his position based on an anonymous complaint to an NCIS tipline in which it was alleged that he made inappropriate comments during a townhall discussion on April 6, 2018.

BGen. Stein will remain on administrative leave pending the outcome of an inquiry into these allegations.

The Marine Corps expects every Marine, uniformed and civilian - and particularly those in leadership positions - to take allegations of misconduct seriously and to promote positive command climates.

As a Corps we are committed to fully investigating and holding ourselves accountable when those allegations are shown to be true. Leaders have a responsibility to ensure that their Marines and civilian employees believe they will be taken seriously if they come forward with allegations of misconduct of any kind.
