A MK-77 fire bomb explodes after being detonated by station explosive ordnance disposal Marines Aug. 4, 2009, at the Barry M. Goldwater Range southeast of the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, Ariz. The EOD team safely diposes of all expired or damaged munitions that become unsafe to use in routine operations or training. EOD technicians dispose of more than 10,000 pounds of ordnance annually and support local law enforcement with explosive ordnance disposal. They also conducts range sweeps after the Weapons and Tactics Instructor courses and train extensively for defusing explosives and disposing of unexploded ordnance.
