Thomas W. Harker assumed duties as the Acting Secretary of the Navy Jan. 20, 2021. Previously, he was performing the duties of the Under Secretary of Defense. Harker was sworn in as Assistant Secretary of the Navy Jan. 2, 2018.
General David H. Berger assumed the duties of Commandant of the Marine Corps on July 11, 2019. A native of Woodbine, Maryland, General Berger graduated from Tulane University and was commissioned in 1981.
General Gary L. Thomas is currently serving as the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps. He graduated from the University of Texas and was commissioned in 1984. He previously served as the Deputy Commandant for Programs and Resources.
Sergeant Major Black assumed his current post as the 19th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps on July 26, 2019. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, he attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., in April of 1988.
