Marine Minute: HHG Safety
May 14, 2020 | 1:00
The U.S. Marine Corps recently issued MARADMIN 284/20, requiring a 100% health safety screening for transportation service provider personnel, performing household goods moves. These safety procedures ensure the safety and protection to all Marines and their families during their move-in and move-out process. (U.S. Marine Corps audio by Lance Cpl. Mellizza Bonjoc)

I’M LANCE CPL. MELLIZZA BONJOC, WITH YOUR MARINE MINUTE.

WITH PCS SEASON AROUND THE CORNER, THE CORPS HAS ISSUED A 100% HEALTH SAFETY SCREENING FOR TRANSPORTATION SERVICE PROVIDER PERSONNEL PERFORMING HOUSEHOLD GOODS MOVES.

UPON ARRIVAL, MOVING CREWS WILL PRESENT WRITTEN VERIFICATION OF A HEALTH SAFETY SCREENING. CREWS WILL ALWAYS WEAR FACEMASKS, SANITIZE FREQUENTLY TOUCHED SURFACES, AND PRACTICE GOOD HANDWASHING HYGIENE.

MEANWHILE, COMMAND REPRESENTATIVES SHOULD CHECK WITH THEIR MARINES AND SAILORS AT THEIR HOMES DURING THE MOVE-IN AND MOVE-OUT PROCESS.

THIS COMMAND VISIT IS TO HELP ENSURE MARINES UNDERSTAND THE HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS IN PLACE SO IF YOU OBSERVE ANYTHING THAT IS UNSAFE OR UNHEALTHY DURING THE MOVE YOU CAN ADDRESS IT IMMEDIATELY.

ALSO, REMEMBER THE FIVE MEASURES TO PROTECT YOUR HEALTH WHILE MOVING IN A COVID-19 ENVIRONMENT:

1) AT ANY POINT YOU BECOME UNCOMFORTABLE WITH YOUR MOVE, YOU CAN RESCHEDULE IT.
2) IF YOU OR YOUR FAMILY ARE SICK, RESCHEDULE YOUR MOVE.
3) LIMIT THE NUMBER OF FAMILY MEMBERS IN THE RESIDENCE DURING THE MOVE.
4) WEAR CLOTH FACE COVERINGS.
5) CLEAN FREQUENTLY TOUCHED SURFACES OFTEN.

FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT YOUR LOCAL DISTRIBUTION MANAGEMENT OFFICE OR CHECK OUT MARADMIN 284/20.
