U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team 1/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), train alongside Force Reconnaissance Platoon (FRP), Maritime Raid Force (MRF), 31st MEU, as a part of Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS) operations during MEU exercise (MEUEX) aboard the USAV Calaboza in Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 7, 2021. The Marine Corps ability to conduct VBSS operations is integral to our ability to operate in the Indonesian Pacific theatre.
