On 28 March 2012, United States Army combat engineers from 84th Engineer Battalion and Philippine Army engineers from 51st Engineer Brigade work together constructing new facilities at Tagbarungis Elementary School in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Republic of the Philippines, as part of Exercise Balikatan 2012 humanitarian and civic assistance events. BK12 is an annual training event aimed at improving combined planning, combat readiness, humanitarian assistance and interoperability between the two partner nations.
