Marine Week Cleveland’s Police Chase and Wellness Walk

Marines and Clevelanders gathered at the Cleveland Browns’ Stadium the morning of June 16 to kick off the Police Chase and Wellness Walk for Marine Week Cleveland. Lt. Gen. Steven A. Hummer, commander, Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces North, personally congratulated each of the participants as they finished the run. Participants were able to complete a Marine Corps physical fitness test, which consisted of pull-ups, sit-ups and a run. The event raised funds for the Cleveland Police Foundation and encouraged physical fitness. Also available in high definition

Thirty-five Marines and local volunteers refurbished the Central Recreation Center in Cleveland by cleaning in and around the almost one hundred year old former bathhouse during Marine Week Cleveland June 14. Marines from Marine Week Cleveland set to work improving the facilities at Hiram House Camp. The camp welcomes children and at risk youth, providing them with an escape into nature and the chance to interact with their peers. Many of the Marines that helped to renovate the camp were Ohio natives, a few remembered their time at Hiram fondly and welcomed the chance to improve the facilities used by the children.
