Marines and Sailors with I Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group attended the I MEF Support Battalion activation ceremony at Camp Pendleton, Calif., April 11, 2018. During the ceremony, Lt. Col. William Gorsuch, the commanding officer of MSB, uncased the colors of the unit, which signified the birth of the newest unit in the Marine Corps. The ceremony also featured remarks from Col. Heck of a Mess Marines with Field Mess Platoon, Combat Service Support Company, I Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, competed for the Maj. Gen. William P.T. Hill Award on March 9, 2018, which will recognize the best field mess of the Marine Corps. They exhibited their food service capabilities to a panel of judges while supporting an on-going field operation. U.S. Marines and Sailors with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Native Fury 18 execute Exercise Native Fury in the United Arab Emirates, Jan. 21-Feb 9. Exercise NF18 is a Joint Chiefs of Staff directed, U.S. Central Command sponsored, I Marine Expeditionary Force executed maritime prepositioning force exercise conducted in the Marine Corps Forces Central Command area of responsibility. Native Fury is designed to train Marines and Sailors in crisis response through MPF operations and aims to increase proficiency, expand levels of cooperation, enhance maritime capabilities, and promote long-term regional stability and interoperability between international partners.
