Marines stationed at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, participated in the Regional East Marksmanship Competition at Marine Corps Base (MCB) Quantico, Virginia. The Marines trained on the Cherry Point pistol and rifle range for two weeks before traveling to MCB Quantico. During the competition, the Marines were evaluated on their speed, efficiency, and accuracy with the service pistol and rifle. Those who qualified at the Regional East Marksmanship Competition would move on to complete at the final Marine Corps Marksmanship Competition where the best participants would place and receive awards and medals. Sgt. Sean Cain was the only Marine from Cherry Point to place and medal in both competitions. Any Marines who are interested in competing should contact the MCAS Cherry Point team lead, Sgt.
