U.S. Marines with Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 25.3 participate in a surge series of exercises consisting of Exercise Alon 25, Super Garuda Shield 25, and the embarkation of the expeditionary sea base USS Miguel Keith (ESB-5) throughout the Philippines, Indonesia, and Australia, from Aug. 15 to Sept. 12, 2025. U.S. Marines with Marine Rotational Force-Southeast Asia participate in exercise KAMANDAG 8 in the Philippines, Oct. 14-21, 2024. KAMANDAG is an annual Philippine and U.S. Marine Corps-led exercise aimed at enhancing the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ defense and humanitarian capabilities by providing valuable training in combined operations with foreign militaries in the advancement of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific. This year marks the eighth iteration of this exercise and includes participants from the French Armed Forces, Royal Thai Marine Corps, and Indonesian Marine Corps; including continued participation from the Australian Defense Force, British Armed Forces, JGSDF, and Republic of Korea Marine Corps. MRF-SEA is a rotational unit derived from elements of I Marine Expeditionary Force executing a U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific operational model that involves training events and exchanges with partner military subject matter experts, promotes security goals with Allied and partner nations, and ensures a persistent I MEF presence west of the International Date Line. 4th Marine Regiment celebrates its 110th anniversary in Okinawa, Japan, April 16, 2024. The regiment, first activated in Puget Sound, Washington, April 16, 1914, has battled mightily from the beaches of Veracruz during the Banana Wars to the desert in Afghanistan during Operation Desert Storm. Through steadfast dedication and unwavering commitment, the regiment continues to uphold the legacy of excellence, in keeping with their motto, “Hold high the torch.” (U.S. Marine Corps video by Sgt.
