Desert Hawk Night Jump

U.S. Marines with 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, take part in the Desert Hawk jump package from June 18 through July 4, 2018, in Parker, Ariz. The Desert Hawk jump package allows the Marines to participate in high altitude low opening and high altitude high opening jumps from heights ranging from 12,000 to 19,000 feet.

Paratroopers from multiple nations boarded a U.S. Marine KC-130J with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Africa during Exercise Lone Paratrooper at Leόn Air Base, Spain, May 18, 2015. The exercise integrated various paratroopers from different countries to simultaneously conduct High Altitude Low Opening and High Altitude High Opening jumps. The Marines used their aircraft to transport more than 280 paratroopers during the exercise. The exercise included jumps from heights ranging from 12,000 to 22,000 feet. Marines with 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, conducted static and high altitude low opening free fall jumps out of multiple aircrafts aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune Jan. 27-29, 2015. Marines jumped to complete their bi-annual qualifications and to complete the battalions mission essential task list so the battalion could form more advanced exercises in the future.
