Sgt. Andre Velez talks about the fully sergeant operated utilities platoon field exercise on Kin Blue, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 5-8, 2017. The exercise consisted of purifying 300,000 gallons of water, providing security and keeping peaceful relations with a mock population. It allowed sergeants and below to take on the responsibilities of their superiors.
