Retired U.S. Marine Lt. Gen. Lawrence F. Snowden is honored at the U.S. Marine Memorial Chapel located on Marine Corps Base Quantico, April 8, 2017. Snowden retired in 1979 after nearly 40 years of service, fought in engagements during World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam. He passed away Feb. 18, 2017. He was prominently known after retirement for organizing joint "Reunion of Honor" missions which is an opportunity for Japanese and U.S. veterans and their families, dignitaries, leaders and service members from both nations to come together to remember the Battle of Iwo Jima. Service members and veterans of the Japanese and U.S. military hosted a ceremony on the island of Iwo Jima in honor of the battle that took place there 68 years ago. Lance Cpl. Brandon Suhr takes us to the island to see the ceremony.
