Marines with 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, spent two days performing a 6-mm mortar live fire aboard Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, March 30-31, 2015. Most Marines performing this live fire were relatively new to the unit and were trained to perform all functions related to the weapon system. The live fire continued into the evening with Marines fire high explosive and illumination rounds.
