The air show featured demonstrations from a host of many talented performers from the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, Hubie Tolson, RJ Gritter and Stephen Covington to a Marine Air-Ground Task Force Demonstration, the F-35B Lightning II and the AV-8B Harrier II during the 2021 MCAS Cherry Point Air Show and 80th Anniversary Celebration on Sept. 25-26, at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. The air show is MCAS Cherry Point and 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing’s immense, community outreach event that is a show of appreciation to its regional neighbors and community partners for their enduring support in mission success. Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point commanding officer, Col. Mikel R. Huber wishes patrons a happy 80 years at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, on May 20, 2021. Today commemorates 79 years since the commissioning of Cherry Point. This year marks 80 years since the groundbreaking of the installation. In those eight decades, MCAS Cherry Point has transformed and adapted as a premier home for the transformation and advancement of Marine Corps aviation and warfighting.
