MCCS Barstow organized the annual Trees for Troops event at MCLB Barstow Base Housing Community Center aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, California, December 6. Military and civilian personnel, together with their families and friends, participated in the celebrations by making Christmas cookies, crafting decorations, selecting Christmas trees, visiting Santa, and enjoying a special performance by the children from the School Aged Care program. Community supporters, including the High Desert Marines and Bob Hope USO, were in attendance, distributing toys and gifts to children of various age groups.

Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow held the Marine Corps 249th Birthday Ball at the Hilton Garden Inn, Victorville, California, November 15. Colonel Russell Savatt, base commanding officer, together with distinguished guest Master Sergeant Andre Bosier, USMC retired, presided over the birthday celebration, which included the ceremonial cake cutting and the presentation of colors by the Walking Color Guard.

MCCS Barstow held their annual Trunk or Treat event aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, California, October 30. The event featured a glow-in-the-dark Harry Potter-themed haunted tunnel, vehicles adorned with various Halloween motifs, a variety of games and prizes, as well as a costume contest open to participants of all ages, including pets.

U.S. Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow is strategically located in the Mojave Desert and connected across the Interstate 15, Interstate 40, Sante Fe railway, and the Union Pacific. Predominantly a logistical and storage location for Marine and other Department of Defense assets, the base also features the largest railway in the Department of Defense, small arms firing ranges, multiple Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) sites, special operations training, and other operations that are not well known outside of the bases gates.
