U.S. Marines are exercising a cooperative security location and training with Senegalese military partners in Dakar, Senegal. The Marines, with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Africa based out of Morón, Spain, are a self-sustaining crisis response force prepared for the protection of American personnel and facilities on the African continent, when directed by U.S. Africa Command. Marines with Bridge Company, 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group constructed an continuous span improved ribbon bridge and medium girder bridge in Lake Elsinore, Calif., March 24. These capabilities provide critical mobility in operational environments as well as potential humanitarian assistance operations. Lake Elsinore offers the only geographic location within 250 miles capable of assembling both bridges at the same site.
