Marines Send Tanks to Eastern Europe
Marines moved, from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, over the Atlantic Ocean to the port of Bremerhaven, Germany, 480 tons of armored vehicles and equipment to be sent to Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria, for the Combined Arms Company, a supplement of the Black Sea Rotational Force that will reassure NATO Allies and partners by providing access to enhanced capabilities during military exercises in the region. The Combined Arms Company equipment included; M1A1 Abrams battle tanks, armored assault vehicles, artillery equipment, logistics vehicles.

“All the equipment was sourced from 2 MEF and was embarked from Camp Lejeune where we got it here to the port of Bremerhaven, on here we are onloading rail via DB Shanker, where it will go down to Bulgaria in the Novo Selo area in support of the Combined Arms Company.
It’s important for us to be able to move gear like this because it improves communication between our NATO Allies and the readiness of the Marine Corps should we need to bring more gear into a European theater. “
