This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Belleau Wood, one of the Marine Corps’ most iconic battles. A ceremony took place over the Memorial Day weekend at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in Belleau, France in honor of the anniversary.

A Marine from 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, pauses to honor Lance Cpl. Ralph J. Fabbri during a memorial ceremony held at Camp Leatherneck, Oct. 18, 2010. Fabbri, 20, was killed in action, Sept. 28, while on patrol in the Sangin District. The Pa. native was a 1st Marine Division (Forward) combat cameraman attached with India Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines.
