Marines serving with 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion train for the first time with the M107 Special Application Scoped Rifle, a .50 caliber sniper rifle. The light armored reconnaissance Marines were instructed by scout sniper instructors from Division Schools, 1st Marine Division. The weeklong course began with classroom instructions and ultimately ended with a three-day live fire range where the Marines qualified with the rifle.
