Marines and Sailors with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit complete a certification course in the carrying of Oleoresin Capsicum, commonly known as Pepper Spray. Each person is sprayed with the non-lethal weapon and sent through a course of aggressors, to test their ability to execute non-lethal martial arts techniques while under the effect of the spray.
