Package about how Marines from 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion struck a key insurgent illicit trafficking hub along the Helmand-Pakistan border March 14-17. In response to severe flooding in Pakistan in the autumn of 2010, the United States responded with a massive humanitarian relief effort. As part of that effort, for two months, Marines with 15th and 26th Marine Expeditionary Units saved thousands of lives by using helicopters to deliver world food program supplies to stranded Pakistanis. Gunnery Sgt. Bryce Piper tells us the Marines with 26th MEU found that compassion can be very rewarding. There are sound bites from Lance Cpl. Package about Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 266 (Reinforced) from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit being assisted by 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward). 3rd MAW (Fwd) gave VMM-266 (Rein) work spaces on the Camp Bastion flight line with generators, air conditioning, phones, computers and flooring. 3rd MAW (Fwd) is also providing billeting, food and water for the MEU Marines. 3rd MAW (Fwd) provided tools and spare parts for VMM-266 (Rein) to assemble four CH-53F Super Stallion helicopters.
