Residents of the River Landing Community in Wallace, NC host Marines and Sailors from Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, Camp Johnson, NC for Thanksgiving, 2015. Marines and Sailors were bussed to Wallace, NC where they spent the Holiday with host families which provided a variety of activities and a home cooked meal for Marines and Sailors spending their first Holiday away from family and friends.

The spouses of Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 29 participated in a squadron-sized physical training event alongside their Marines in order to better understand what it takes to complete the Marine Combat Fitness Test, at Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C., 30 Oct., 2015.

The F-35B Lighting II Joint Strike Fighter is a fifth-generation fighter aircraft that provides the capabilities to sustain and maximize the effectiveness of the Marine Corps' aviation combat element. The operational testing (OT-1) of the F-35B evaluated and assessed the integration of the F-35B into Marine Corps aviation while operating across different flight, maintenance and logistical operations that are seen in the Marine Corps' operating forces. Corporal Anthony Novelly, a collateral duty inspector with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 162, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, was awarded the II MEF Marine of the Year award, March 20, 2015. Novelly stood out above his peers and the Marines he competed against, throughout the selection process for the award, and received the award from Maj. Gen. William Beydler, the commanding general of II Marine Expeditionary Force.

Landing support specialists with Combat Logistics Battalion 2, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, conducted helicopter support team operations with Marine Heavy Helicopter Training Squadron 302, Marine Aircraft Group 29, 2nd Marine Air Wing, aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Jan. 29, 2015. Marines would practice and rotate positions to become familiar with each portion of a HST. This is an annual training requirement for landing support specialist Marines.
