U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Alyssa Triplett, a radio operator with Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, California, graduated the Scout Swimmer course on May 15, 2020. Triplett officially became the first female marine to successfully complete the three week course which trains personnel in the skills necessary to plan and execute beach and urban swimmer reconnaissance in support of small boat operations. Nicholson, from Toronto, is the III Marine Expeditionary Force commanding general and the Okinawa area coordinator. Argabrite, from Norfolk, Virginia, is an automotive mechanic with III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group. Wien, from Johns Creek, Georgia, is a combat rubber raiding craft coxswain with 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I MEF and is assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit through the unit deployment program.

U.S. and Philippine reconnaissance Marines execute a live-fire amphibious raid during Amphibious Landing Exercise 2015 at Cavite, Ternate, Philippines, Oct. 8, 2015. PHIBLEX 2015 is an annual, bilateral training exercise conducted by U.S. Marine and Navy Forces with the Armed Forces of the Philippines in order to strengthen our interoperability and working relationships across the range of military operations — from disaster relief, to complex expeditionary operations. The Philippine Marines are reconnaissance men with 64th Force Reconnaissance Company, Marine Special Operations Group. The U.S. Marines are reconnaissance men with 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force.

Marines with 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division conducted amphibious training aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., March 17-20, 2015. The Marines conducted various events throughout the week which included: basic boat manipulation, boat formations, surf passages, scout swimmer operations and a culminating event which combined everything they have learned.

Marines learn swimming techniques, swimming with fins and practice rescue swimming techniques as part of a three-week Scout Swimmer Course starting Oct. 21.
