Marines assigned to Marine Air Support Squadron 1 participated in the annual Chieftain run at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Nov. 16-17, 2016. The Chieftains collectively ran for 24 hours to pay tribute to MASS-1 Marines who have passed away. FAOONE, Tahiti -- U.S. Marines and sailors with Task Force Koa Moana 16-4 integrated with French forces during an exercise in Faoone, Tahiti, Sept. 22, 2016. Koa Moana and French forces participated in a jungle endurance course, life-fire range and traditional meal. The Koa Moana exercise seeks to enhance senior military leader engagements between allied and partner nations in the pacific with a collective interest in military-to-military relations and to discuss key aspects of military operations, capability development and interoperability in the South Pacific. This trailer is for the video "The History of Camp Lejeune" in which it summarizes the history of Marine Corps base Camp Lejeune and its significance it has for the Marines that train there; to the people living in and around the installation; and to the American public. Camp Lejeune also reflects on the installation’s 75th anniversary this year. From its original development to support the World War II campaign to present day missions overseas, the installation continues to do what it was originally created for: train, support and deploy Marines on behalf of the President of the United States and its citizens.
