Service members, DoD employees, and family members participate in the Dead Dash Fun Run event, which included a 5K race where participants must also avoid zombies, various games, and a costume contest at the Memorial Pavilion aboard Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma, Ariz., Oct. 31, 2017. Semper Fit hosted the annual event to help MCAS Yuma celebrate Halloween, and presented awards to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female finishers.

Local educators and community members of Yuma, Ariz., were invited to take a look at what occurs inside Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron (MAWTS) One and experience what Marines attending and supporting Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course 1-18 go through Oct. 13, 2017. WTI is a course hosted twice a year by MAWTS-1 that provides standardized advanced tactical training and certification of unit instructor qualifications, providing assistance in the development and employment of aviation weapons and tactics. Marines and soldiers on Camp Manion at Al Taqaddum Air Base, Iraq, remember 1st Lt. Travis L. Manion’s legacy. Manion was killed April 29, 2007, while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. For his heroic actions, Manion posthumously received the Bronze Star with Valor and the Silver Star. Camp Pendleton has 6 housing districts built by Lincoln Military Housing and Hunt Military Communities. This product was created to provide amplifying and clarifying information regarding Public Private Venture to counter miss information and minimize confusion among current and future base housing residents.
