More than 30 Marines with Task Force Southwest’s security element conducted nonlethal weapons training at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Feb. 21-24, 2017. Approximately 300 Marines are assigned to Task Force Southwest, whose mission will be to train, advise and assist the Afghan National Army 215th Corps and 505th Zone National Police. The advise and assist and team from 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force took part in a three-day mission support exercise April 27 – April 29, at Naval Air Station Oceana Dam Neck Annex. The MSE is a capstone evaluation event conducted by the Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group. The advise and assist team goes through two weeks of various classes and training before participating in the three-day exercise. This training teaches Marines how to most effectively work together with foreign security forces with a different cultural aspect. Video produced by Cpl. Taylor Schrick
