Marines with Company I, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force test new boots and uniforms Aug. 5 at the Jungle Warfare Training Center in Okinawa, Japan. The new equipment is lighter and capable of drying faster than the current uniforms and boots. The Marines have been staying in the field for two weeks testing the new gear while going through the course.

Marines with the Infantry Officer's Course conducted a long range raid on San Clemente Island, Calif., March 24. The Marines were lifted approximately 70 miles off the coast of southern California by Third Marine Aircraft Wing and East Coast aircraft. The Marines also used new technology to plan before boots hit the ground.
