Marines with Headquarters Battalion, Marine Forces Reserve, conducted a cake-cutting ceremony and formation run to celebrate the 240th Marine Corps Birthday, Nov. 10, 2015 at Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans. During the cake-cutting ceremony, the first slice of cake is passed from the oldest Marine to the youngest Marine present, symbolizing the passing of traditions and knowledge from one generation of Marines to the next.

Marines with the 9th Marine Corps District and Recruiting Station Des Moines attended the 30th annual Dubuque Fireworks and Air Show in Dubuque, Iowa, July 2-4. The show attracts more than 50,000 visitors annually from Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin.

Marines with 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, and Soldiers with the Australian Defence Force marched in a parade to honor the Centenary of Australian and New Zealand Army Corps Day, April 25, Darwin, Australia. Australians and Marines honored those who served and died in all wars and peace keeping operations since, by participating in the parade. ANZAC Day is a memorial to all service personnel who have been involved in or affected by the acts of war.
