Marines with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment conducted amphibious assault and movement to contact training aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., April 9, 2015. The training went hand-in-hand with sailors conducting training on the USS Wasp and promoted unit cohesion and proficiency in combat tactics. After debarking the USS Wasp in assault amphibious vehicles, the Marines then moved to a range where they conducted movement to contact, ultimately securing their objective. The contact tracing process is integral to minimizing the spread of the COVID-19 virus and aids commanders in taking appropriate preventive measures to identify and treat potentially infected individuals.
