Ret. Staff Sgt. Danielle Pothoof is competing in swimming, cycling, track, wheel chair basketball, and sitting volleyball during the 2018 Warrior Games.

Retired Gunnery Sgt. Douglas Godfrey Jr. is competing in the 2018 DoD Warrior Games. This is Godfrey's second Warrior Games, and he is competing in shooting, both air rifle and pistol, archery, cycling, and swimming. Godfrey will continue on to the Invictus Games in Sydney, Australia, in October 2018.

More than 3,400 competitors from 47 states and 32 countries participate in the 2018 Ironman 70.3 Oceanside Triathlon on Camp Pendleton, Calif., April 7, 2018. The triathlon tested the participants’ strength and endurance through the 1.2-mile swim in the Oceanside Harbor, the 56-mile bike course through Camp Pendleton and San Onofre Bluffs State Park, and the 13.1-mile run through Oceanside. Athletes competed in cycling for the 2018 Marine Corps trials on Holcomb Boulevard at Camp Lejeune, N.C., March 18, 2018. The competition was split into three events: 30k upright, 20k recumbent and a 10k hand cycling race. U.S. Marine service members, veterans and retirees competed with six other nations during the event. The Marine Corps Trials promotes recovery and rehabilitation through adaptive sport participation and develops camaraderie among recovering service members (RSMs) and veterans. It is as an opportunity for RSMs to demonstrate their achievements and serves as the primary venue to select Marine Corps participants for the DoD Warrior Games. (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by Sgt.
