Fall Festival 2024 - Oktoberfest

Military and civilian personnel, along with their families, joined Marine Corps Community Services for the 2024 Fall Festival, themed as Oktoberfest, at the James L. Day Conference Center aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, California, September 18. The event featured a variety of activities for all age groups, such as mechanical bull riding, a petting zoo, craft stations, a caricaturist, a hot dog eating competition, carnival games, strength challenges, and numerous additional attractions. 2019 Year in Review

From hosting the Super Guppy to a visit from the 38th Commandant of the Marine Corps, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, had an eventful year. It saw the turnover of its command leaders. Its community members worked hard and played hard in a multitude of training exercises and family events. It highlighted its hardworking Marines, Sailors and civilians and showed off some of what takes place behind the scenes of accomplishing the mission. (Balikatan 2019: PAF, USAF military working dog training

Military working dog handlers from Pacific Air Forces and their counterparts from the Philippine Air Force shared best practices during a subject matter expert exchange April 3, 2019, in support of Exercise Balikatan. The exchange focused on various techniques including explosive detection, adjusting to gunfire and search and rescue. Exercise Balikatan, in its 35th iteration, is an annual U.S.-Philippine military training focused on a variety of missions, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, counterterrorism, and other combined military operations.
