Marple, an Iowa native and small unmanned aerial systems capabilities integration officer with Combat Development and Integration, “passes the torch” to Lance Cpl. Grayson J. Marple, an aircraft avionics technician with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 242, at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, Triangle, Virginia, June 13, 2024. Master Sgt. Marple explained that the passing of the torch is a tradition honored in his family, one that began since the 1950’s; this tradition is a legacy carried from parent to child within the Marple family. Master Sgt. Marple served honorably for 20 years, during which he deployed multiple times to include the support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
