More Information
MCAS Miramar switching to renewable "green" energy helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and move toward greater energy independence while simultaneously benefiting the City of San Diego by reducing our dependence on the San Diego electrical grid. This is a joint venture between MCAS Mirmar, the city of San Diego and Fortistar. MCAS Miramar will receive over half of its energy from renewable sources reaching the SecNav's goals of all bases and stations getting 50% of its power from renewable energy 8 years ahead of schedule. MCAS Miramar plans to be completely off of the San Diego Electric grid by 2017. Available in high definition.
