U.S. Marines with Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) and Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 372, Marine Wing Support Group 37, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, conduct an aircraft salvage exercise during Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course 1-20 at Site 2 in Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona, Sept. 25, 2019. WTI is a seven-week training event hosted by MAWTS-1, which emphasizes operational integration of the six functions of Marine Corps aviation in support of a Marine Air Ground Task Force. WTI also provides standardized advanced tactical training and certification of unit instructor qualifications to support Marine aviation training and readiness, and assists in developing and employing aviation weapons and tactics. The Coast Guard has officially ended the active search for two Marine CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters and its crew in Hawaii, as of sunset January 19. The Marine Corps will now lead the recovery and salvage operations with the help of the U.S. Navy salvage ship Salvor.

Marines with 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion conducted a two-week Dive Supervisor Course at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Jan. 11-21, 2016. A dive supervisor is a subject matter expert in underwater operations including salvage, hazards, and safety procedures. The course allows for individual units to oversee their own dive operations in both training and real-time situations.

An overview of the training conducted at the Marine Corps Combatant Diver Detatchment, Panama City, Fla. The Marine Combatant Diver Course is designed to train basic and advanced open and closed circuit diving techniques in order to effectively function as a member of a dive team, in support of the operating forces.
