Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Marines present a uniform pageant for local schools in Havelock, N.C., Nov. 8-9, 2017. This presentation to local schools marks the first time the pageant has taken place in the neighboring community. The pageant is held to honor the Marine Corps’ birthday and features Marines wearing period uniforms from all major conflicts the Marine Corps has fought in. The pageant also included a traditional cake-cutting ceremony, but instead of passing cake between Marines, it was passed from the most senior teacher to the newest. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl.
