From April 28- May 5, 2019, 4th Dental Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group, Marine Forces Reserve is participating in the Innovative Readiness Training Puerto Rico 2019 in order to restore military readiness while strengthening alliances with partners. MARFORRES Sailors are working jointly with several National Guard and Reserve units from across the nation to provide medical, dental and optometry care in Puerto Rico during a two-week medical exercise. With the New Year comes a plethora of unchecked boxes, one being your dental checkup. While it may seem routine, service members in a class three or four dental classification are considered at increased risk to experience a dental emergency and compromise unit combat effectiveness or ability to deploy, so follow up with your dentist and ensure you’re ready to answer the call when needed.
