U.S. Marines with 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) participated in Exercise Nordic Response 24 across Norway, Sweden, and Finland from January to March 2024. Exercise Nordic Response 24 is designed to enhance military capabilities and allied cooperation in high-intensity warfighting scenarios under challenging arctic conditions while providing U.S. Marines unique opportunities to train alongside NATO allies and partners. U.S. Marines with 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing use a forward arming and refueling point to refuel two F-35B Lightning II fighter jets at Marine Corps Auxiliary Landing Field (MCALF) Bogue, North Carolina, Nov. 18, 2021. The event was a demonstration of expeditionary advanced base operations concepts to illustrate the capabilities of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing as a result of the Commandant of the Marine Corps’ force design. The demonstration marks the first occasion of air delivered ground refueling of an F-35 on the East Coast as well as the first time 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing has conducted F-35 operations at MCALF Bogue. U.S. Marines with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, refuel two Japanese AH-1S Cobras and one Japanese UH-1J Huey during an Aviation Delivered Ground Refueling (ADGR) drill at Forest Light Middle Army in Aibano Training Area, Shiga, Japan, Dec. 5, 2019.
