Marines with Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, sit on a Light Armored Vehicle atop the flight deck aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) during a defense of the amphibious task force drill, underway in the South China Sea, Sept. 27, 2018. U.S. and Philippine Marines gathered at Marine Barracks Rudiardo Brown, Taguig, Philippines, Oct. 2, to celebrate the beginning of KAMANDAG. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase "Kaagapay Ng Mandirigma Ng Dagat," which translates to "Cooperation of Warriors of the Sea." This bilateral exercise increases the ability of the U.S. and the Philippines to rapidly respond to terrorist threats or humanitarian crises.

U.S. Marines and Soldiers, along with Australian Army and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Soldiers worked together as team mates to overcome adventure training activities during Exercise Kowari 2017. U.S. Marines and soldiers, Australian Army soldiers, and the People’s Liberation Army soldiers participate in Exercise Kowari, a survival training exercise, at Daly River region, Northern Territory, Australia, on Aug. 27 to Sept. 9.

Approximately 125 military and civilian medical professionals from eight different nations attended an Exercise Cobra Gold 2015 sponsored medical symposium at the Lop Buri Inn Resort, Mueang Lop Buri District, Lop Buri Province, Thailand, from Feb. 16-17, 2015. Representatives from the different nations – which included Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, China, Singapore, India, Thailand and the U.S. - took turns discussing subjects from their respective fields and common health crises that pose a threat to the worldwide participants. They also participated in tabletop exercises, which brought the partner nations together to resolve simulated crises. The exchange will include U.S. Army soldiers from 25th Infantry Division out of Hawaii and U.S. Marines from 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion out of Okinawa. Participants will consist of junior officers, staff and non-commissioned officers.
