For 246 years, the U.S. Marine Corps has served and defended the American people and their way of life. Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, has shared in that responsibility for 80 of those years. U.S. Marine Corps Col. Mikel Huber, commanding officer of MCAS Cherry Point, would like to wish all Marines a happy birthday and remind them to celebrate our Corps’ history, and strive to become better Marines each and every day.

If you’re having a pumpkin party, make sure everyone knows what kind of party it is. With Halloween just around the corner, it’s important to remember some key trick-or-treating guidelines: groups should be no larger than 10 people; keep six feet between trick-or-treating groups; wear bright colors; parents/guardians should inspect all candy and throw away unwrapped pieces; and wash your hands before you eat any treats. Last but certainly not least, have fun! As the range OIC, Adam has many responsibilities from managing and instructing 45 Marines that serve as range staff to ensuring all Marines training on the range receive proper instruction. David Wilkerson, the Motorcycle Mentorship Program (MMP) representative for Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, explains what MMP is and what kind of training is involved, July 7, 2021. In 2008, the Marine Corps lost 25 Marines to motorcycle related accidents. As a result of such a high fatality rate, MMP was created to give Marines not only the training, but the knowledge to keep them safe while operating a motorcycle. Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians with Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point had the opportunity to share techniques with the Carteret County Special Response Team (SRT) on how to identify military grade ordinance, explosives and improvised charges during a joint training event at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, June 9, 2021. For most Marines, the arrival of the equal opportunity representative (EOR) or equal opportunity advisor (EOA) into their workspace signifies one thing – spy on deck! The stigma that surrounds the resource of the EOR or EOA is one of having to fix and adjust the environment, from pictures and knick-knacks at your desk to stereotypical foul language. This simply isn’t the case. As Marines, we are expected to be professional at all times. As EORs and EOAs, their responsibilities as Marine leaders includes being a resource to help you change the climate within our culture, preventing toxic leadership and a hostile working environment utilizing Prohibited Activities and Conduct (PAC).
