Marines with Guard Company were presented a Certificate of Appreciation and a challenge coin by Deputy Chief Sean M. Egan, deputy chief of the DC Fire Department, Dec. 9, 2020. The Marines received the awards for their heroic actions on Nov. 7 when they helped save a woman's life who was struck by a vehicle outside their post.

Marines with Special Purpose MAGTF - Crisis Response - Central Command took part in an emergency medicine technician course while deployed to the U.S. Central Command area of operations. The Marines who completed the course received their EMT basic certification

Fire Fighters with Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California trained with REACH, an emergency air medical service, on East Miramar Apr. 27, 28, and 30. After a morning presentation, fire fighters practiced evacuating a casualty by helicopter.

Military, federal and municipal emergency response personnel participated in Exercise Lethal Breeze 2012 at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Sept. 6. The purpose of the exercise was to not only prepare military and civilian response agencies for the upcoming 2012 Kaneohe Bay Air Show, but also for any disaster that could require their unified response. Lethal Breeze 2012 exercised two scenarios: a terrorist attack taking place during an on-base air show and a military aircraft crashing into an off-base, civilian housing community. The purpose of the exercise was to further integrate military and civilian capabilities to help ensure their effective response during a disaster. Available in high definition.
